		<description>Even though when you&#039;re learning to drive you&#039;re warned not to swerve to avoid animals (because you may cause a human accident), it&#039;s a reflex and for me it usually happens before I&#039;ve had time to think to myself &quot;Do not swerve! Just hit the thing!&quot;  I don&#039;t &lt;em&gt;want&lt;/em&gt; to hit it, so that may be part of the problem. I did hit a big frog once -- it made a terrible thud against the under carriage of my car -- and here I am still talking about it 15 years later. Ugh. It was awful.

Last week on NPR they had a segment about the &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=92151807&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;road kill warden&lt;/a&gt; at Yosemite National Park where tourists drive too fast and hit and kill bears every week. I know you&#039;re probably not interested in listening about roadkill on NPR, but I thought it was kind of interesting and related to your post.</description>
